Prayer Garden News
March, 2018
Dear Friends of Gateway,
Finally, an answer has come regarding our zoning . . . !
Thank you for your prayers which have resulted in “preliminary approval” for the designation of GPG as a “Park”. This is a huge answer for the Prayer Garden and once city officials finalize the steps required to conform to their definition of a park, physical changes and operation of machinery can occur. Indications were given a formal letter would be sent in the next 1-2 weeks.
Preparing the Prayer Trail along Fountain Creek . . .
The first major transformation to the land is a Prayer Trail with multiple clearings for visitors to stop and pray while experiencing the beautiful environment adjacent to Fountain Creek flowing nearby. This provides a meaningful prayer venue and becomes the initial part of Phase One.
For the past several Saturdays groups of volunteers have labored with machetes, chain saws, and rakes to rid the currently most beautiful portion of the property of flood debris from past years as well as dead trees and low hanging branches. We have now passed the half way mark and have a goal for completion by mid-May!
