Prayer Garden News

March, 2018

Dear Friends of Gateway,

Finally, an answer has come regarding our zoning . . . !

Thank you for your prayers which have resulted in “preliminary approval” for the designation of GPG as a “Park”. This is a huge answer for the Prayer Garden and once city officials finalize the steps required to conform to their definition of a park, physical changes and operation of machinery can occur. Indications were given a formal letter would be sent in the next 1-2 weeks.

Answer to Come Soon on Zoning For The Garden . . .

Many of you have known clarification of our zoning status has been delayed. We are happy to share that a candid and very positive meeting occurred on Thursday, January 11th in the Fountain City government offices with the new City Attorney, Troy Johnson and the Deputy City Manager, Todd Evans. Amy Lathen, former El Paso County Commissioner and a member of our Advisory Board, was able to be in attendance as we made our case and we felt we received a fair hearing.

Please pray that the City Attorney will have wisdom in deciding the outcome that will be best for all parties concerned both in the short and long term. We hope to have the answer for you in the near future.

Circle the Date on your Calendar . . .

On May 14th a celebration of the 70th anniversary of the modern state of Israel will occur and we plan to have a special gathering at the Gateway Prayer Garden. More details to follow . . .
